After 7 seasons with the National Women's Football Association (NWFA) The Cleveland Fusion are proud to announce that the 2009 season will mark their first season in the new league known as the Women's Football Alliance (WFA). The Fusion are one of 35 teams that make up the league, which is one of the largest in the history of women’s football. The Fusion are excited to build upon their experience in the NWFA and welcome new challenges that the WFA teams have to offer.

While the Fusion was a part of the NWFA they had become one of the premiere teams and the 2007 season was highlighted by a strong playoff run that led to the Conference Championship game for the first time in team history. The Fusion fell to the 2007 NWFA Champion Pittsburgh Passion in the Conference Finals.

This season the Fusion is very excited to build upon their experience in the NWFA and welcome new challenges that the WFA teams have to offer. Good luck teams and Go Fusion!
