The Cleveland Fusion is a Women's Full-tackle Football Team
based in Cleveland, Ohio. The Fusion played in the National Women's Football
Association (NWFL) from their inception in 2002 until 2008. While the Fusion was a part of the NWFA they had become one
of the premiere teams and the 2007 season was highlighted
by a strong playoff run that led to the Conference Championship
game for the first time in team history. The Fusion fell to
the 2007 NWFA Champion Pittsburgh Passion in the Conference
Finals.
In 2009 the
Fusion moved into a new league, The Women's
Football Alliance (WFA) where
they welcomed new teams and new challenges. The Fusion are one of 62 teams
that make up the league, which is one of the largest
in the history of women’s football.
After a playoff run in the 2010 season and after having 9 players selected for the All-American team, the Fusion look to build upon their experience and build their roster for the 2011 season.
